Senate Proposes Less Than Assembly for Mandates

The Senate followed suit with its standard practice of offering less for mandate reimbursement when the Assembly proposes a specific amount.  Today, the Senate proposed $150 million for mandate reimbursement, less than half of the $340 million proposed by the Assembly last week.  Of course, more funds for mandates would be better for all - schools and the state - since the education shortfall for mandates is now over $1 billion.

So There is More Money - How Far Would it Go?
